What is a Christian?

jesus-christ-on-cross-0107Jesus died for our sins. He was buried, and then resurrected, and by these events, He offers salvation to all who will receive Him in faith. (1 Corinthians 15:1-5 ) No person can earn his place in Heaven by his actions or good deeds. Even the very “best” of mankind falls woefully short of the righteousness of God. Our Heavenly Father created us for the purpose of having a loving relationship with Him, but our sins keep us separated from our Father who detests sin. We are so fortunate that in God’s awesome mercy, He sent the Son, Jesus Christ, to be our intercessor before God. (John 3:16 ).

Jesus came to Earth as God in flesh. He came for the purpose of paying for our sins with His blood. On the cross, Jesus completed this gift. His last words (on the cross) were “It is finished.” (John 19:30 ) This signified that his loving gift of redemption of our sins was complete. This redemption is sufficient to pay our debt we owe for our many sins. And through the faith we have in this, our relationship with God is restored.

As Christians, we start by our belief in Jesus Christ, his life, death and resurrection. We confess our sins to Him and we ask for his forgiveness of these sins. The moment we repent of our sins and trust in Jesus as our Savior, we receive the Holy Spirit to guide us and strengthen us. And with the Holy Spirit as our guide, we can fully appreciate the “Word of God”, The Holy Bible.

Please join us in our walk with God. He is calling for us all to join Him,here and in Heaven when we leave this world. The gift of redemption is given freely by God in return for your faith in Jesus Christ. If you would like to begin your relationship with God and request the gift of salvation, please trust in Jesus, repent of your sins, and recite the following prayer:

“Heavenly Father, I know that I have broken your commandments and my sins have separated me from you. I truly regret the sins of my past and I ask you to please forgive me. Please help me to avoid these sins in the future. I believe that your Son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead. I believe that He is living and hears my prayers. I invite Jesus into my heart and will worship Him as my Lord and Savior from this moment through all eternity. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”

If you have accepted Jesus as your savior and repented of your sins, please take the next step and find a good Bible based church to attend. And remember to put all teaching to the test of the Bible. It is the true and infallible “Word of God”. If any teachings do not align with the Holy Bible, run from that teaching and find a true Church that bases its teachings on the “Word” And remember that you are loved and are of the utmost value to God!
May God Bless You and Yours!
